About
The Barbourville Pregnancy Care Center is a faith-based support center for expecting mothers, babies, and families. We offer material support in the form of clothes, food, and other necessary baby & maternal items which are available through an earn-to-learn program. Through this program we offer invaluable family education to strengthen parents and families as a whole. We also have counseling and mentorship services available to our clients, as well as, pregnancy testing. Through our network of medical professionals and Christian counselors, we hope to guide families away from abortion as an option and walk with them through the pregnancy and first two years of the child’s life showing them the love of Christ while providing the care and support they need.
History
In early 2022, many citizens of Knox County felt led to pray as a community in response to a planned pro-abortion rally which was set to take place on the Courthouse Square. Additionally, there was talk on the national stage about the possibility of Roe V. Wade being overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Approximately 500 Knox Countians representing some 20 churches gathered one Sunday evening for 2+ hours of community prayer. It was during this time that God gave multiple people the vision for a crisis pregnancy center in Barbourville. A community interest meeting was held and quickly followed by a meeting to establish a board of directors from several local churches.
The Barbourville Pregnancy Care Center was officially formed in August of 2022.
